College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) clinched their second straight title after defeating strong rival, CNU Medellin, 25-21, 13-25, 25-14, Wednesday at CNU Inner Court.
CAS leaned on their team captain, Sarah Tongalamos who unleashed deadly spikes to give her team the first set, 25-21.
It was not easy for CAS to continue dominating as Medellin showed what they've got and crushed the defending champs on the second set, 25-13, and forced a do-or-die set.
On the latter part of the match, key players from CAS, Regie Giango and Girlie Talisic joined the ladies in red right after winning their Beach Volleyball title at Plaza Independencia.
With their senior players and key players playing inside the court, CAS successfully defended their crown and gave Medellin a heartbreaking loss, 25-14.
Tongalamos emphasized that it was not easy for them to defend their title as they also struggled receiving the ball properly, and lack of communication inside the court overpowered them.
"Atleast sa last nako karon, nakuha jud namo ang gold sa College of Arts and Sciences," said Tongalamos.
